2nd International Accordion Contest – Brazil .

The 2nd International Accordion Contest takes place in, San Paolo, from August 21st to 23rd. Leading Brazilian accordionist Waldonys will carry out the opening ceremony. The adjudicators include Mirco Patarini (picture right), Professor Roberto Bueno, Vice President of the OMB (Order of the Musicians of Brazil), Professor David Saidel, Oswaldinho of the Acordeon, Waldonys, Elizeu Vargas, and Bruno Moritz (winner of the first contest - picture right lower). Festival highlights include the release of Bruno Moritz’s first CD, and a concert performance by Argentinean accordionist Alejandro Brittes. The contests, which begin at 9.30am each day, will be broadcast via the internet through the site: www.valerio.com.br during the three days of the event.

Maestro Paolo Gandolfi´s tourne in Brazil.

The Maestro Paolo Gandolfi, in his trip to Brazil, participated in day 22 of May, of 10° meeting of sanfoneiros, at Fazenda Santa Stela (Santa Stela farm) in Ribeirão Preto-SP. On day 25, he presented in the city of Jaú, divided stage with Bruno Moritz and Rafael Borges (on guitar), Bruno was the winner of 1° International Competition of Accordionists, realized in August of 2007. Paolo Gandolfi made a donation, for the Brazilian Accordionists Association, of a Accordion Excelsior used by Gandolfi when he recorded the LP “Accordion Spetacular” on 1960. This instrument, has a very important historical value for who appreciate instrumental music, because we can divide the accordion in Brazil, before and after this LP, therefore initiate at that time a new way to play accordion in Brazil. Completing his tourne to Brazil, Paolo Gandolfi made a concert with Oscars dos Reis, in Caxias do Sul-RS. See the photos, cliking here.

The northeast brazilian artist Waldonys launches your first DVD, commemorating your 20 years of career, the show was filmed on José de Alencar Theater in Fortaleza-CE, on may this year, Renato Borghetti, Tânia Alves and Fausto Nilo are your guests.
The DVD have two hours with making of, aereal interview with Waldonys flying, his other passion.
